Conversational Guide

TASK = the activity they perform to get their desired outcome. E.g. Heat a slice of pizza, get a medical checkup, pay school fees, and pay medical bills to reach more customers.

  1. Walk me through the last time you tried to do TASK.
  2. Why do you do TASK?
  3. How frequently do you do TASK? (per day, week, month, year)
  4. What are you trying to achieve/get done by doing TASK?
  5. Describe to me the steps you take to do TASK.
  6. Which step takes the most amount of time?
  7. Which step is the most difficult? (ask why)
  8. Which step is the most expensive? (get an amount)
  9. At what point does it move from expensive to affordable?
  10. Which step would you like removed? (why?)
  11. Why do you choose this TASK as opposed to any other? (let them mention the other options that may exist do not feed them options)
  12. Why did they pick TASK as opposed to the options they gave you in the previous question?
  13. How often do you experience problems when you try to perform TASK?
  14. What happens before you experience the problem trying to perform TASK?
  15. What happens after you experience the problem trying to perform TASK?
  16. What do you dislike about TASK? (get the negative experience)
  17. How much would you pay to take that negative experience away?
  18. Can you show me how you do TASK?
  19. How have you tried to improve TASK?
  20. What solution would help you perform TASK better?
  21. What is the maximum amount you would pay to eliminate the problem that you face trying to perform TASK?
  22. Are you currently paying for a solution that attempts to eliminate the problem you mentioned that you would pay to be removed?
  23. How happy are you with that solution?
  24. Is there anything that could be improved?
